The introduction and continuous support of our data protection management by aubex gives us the opportunity to fully focus on our core business and the change in the automotive industry. Together, we not only meet the legal requirements, but also increase our customers' trust in our company.

The Oppel Group


With 350 employees, the Oppel Group - consisting of Autohaus Oppel GmbH, Oppel GmbH and Spedition Oppel GmbH - is a full-service automotive provider with 13 automotive brands at six locations. The existing brand diversity - from Mercedes-Benz to Volvo - makes it possible to always offer the right mobility solution and thus satisfy the different needs of customers. The turnover for Autohaus Oppel GmbH & Oppel GmbH amounts to about 70 million € per year.  



Unsere Herausforderung


Bestrebungen, Datenschutz von Beginn an und fortlaufend im Blick zu behalten und gleichzeitig wirtschaftliche Interessen zu verfolgen, erschienen zu Beginn nicht miteinander vereinbar. Schnell war klar, dass das zum einen personelle Ressourcen binden und regelmäßige fachliche Weiterbildung erfordern würde. Zum anderen sahen wir die innerbetriebliche Akzeptanz als Problem: auf Datennutzung setzendes Marketing versus Datennutzung reglementierender Datenschutz. Zusammengefasst wurde Datenschutz anfänglich als „Showstopper“ betrachtet. 


Our results


Even before the DSGVO came into force, aubex, a leading automotive service provider, was commissioned to look after data protection management. Together, we have successfully built up a data protection management system over the years and are continuously developing it together.

Whether it's a data protection review of new processing operations or the data protection-compliant implementation of planned marketing campaigns - we can consult aubex at any time and get the help and support we need in a timely manner.  


Im Ergebnis sparen wir durch die Unterstützung von aubex interne Ressourcen, die uns wiederum für die Optimierung der Kundenbetreuung und damit unsere Hauptaufgaben zur Verfügung stehen. 

Our conclusion


We are convinced that clean data records and transparent processes play a major role in increasing trust in our companies. For us, compliance with data protection regulations is the basis for long-term, well-functioning and strong customer relationships. The high level of acceptance and increased sensitivity within our operations show that data protection is now seen as an opportunity across all companies. Everyone in the company can play an active role in implementing it.
